It’s important to recognize your strengths, but proactively identifying your weaknesses is the key to turning things in your favor.
What role do you play in your company? I’m not talking about your title or where you sit on the org chart, but the role shaped by your strengths
—and weaknesses—as a leader. It goes beyond your talents—although they certainly play a part—to the way you naturally approach any given endeavor. Understanding your style can unlock your full potential as a leader and help your company succeed in the future.
in pursuing any given endeavor. Understanding your style can make your potential as a leader limitless, while also helping your company achieve future success.
When I was starting my own business, I was fortunate to learn this concept early—partly because, at the time, it was just me
and my co-founder, so our personalities and approaches to management Business Always under the microscope. This allowed us to identify our strengths and weaknesses.
We struck a dynamic balance: I was the executor, and he was the visionary. This helped us establish and grow our company quickly.
As we continued to grow and added new members to our team, I realized that three core personality types had served as the foundation for our company’s success:
1. The Visionary
2 . المنفذ
3 . المعالج
Knowing when to apply each of these leadership styles—and how to balance them—is crucial for any business. It’s a skill that can
drive long-term growth.
Regardless of your company’s size or stage, it’s important to take stock of where any gaps might be. If your company consists of a team
of one and you’re looking to grow, knowing which of the three roles you need to fill can help guide you toward the next hire you need.
As you continue to grow and establish different departments, ensuring that each of these roles is represented on those teams
will also help them excel. As we built our teams القيادة and senior leadership, we relied heavily on having a balanced mix of visionaries, executors,
and processors—and this approach has been a key factor in our success.
While there’s no single right way to run a company, certain patterns clearly contribute to its success. With that in mind,
let’s explore the benefits of these three leadership styles—and the best times to put them into practice.

تبدأ كل A startup with a big idea—and that’s where a visionary leader comes in. Even if this person didn’t come up with the original idea, they play an essential role
in the early stages of starting a company. Author and speaker Josh Linkner describes a visionary as someone “willing to dream big and think
about the future. When your organization has a senior leader focused on what’s possible and constantly reinventing, you’ll have a chance to reach those
lofty stars you’ve always dreamed of reaching.”
As my company began to grow, our visionary leaders helped us continue reaching new heights. While this was important in the early stages of
the company’s existence, visionaries are also the key game-changers in تحقيق النجاح ongoing growth. Without their vision and unique ability to keep
the possibilities in mind and focus on what could be—no matter how far-fetched the idea—companies will fail to grow. These people are never satisfied
with the status quo. They refuse to settle for outdated ideas. Instead, visionaries have the ability to propel companies into
the next stage—whatever that stage may be.
A modern example of a visionary is Jenny Fleiss, co-founder and former head of logistics at
Rent the Runway, which changed the way women consume high fashion. Now, she’s transforming another industry with her latest venture:
Jetblack, an AI-powered shopping service that lets people shop at Walmart from inside a store

While doers complete tasks, executors are known for working long and hard to deliver one task after another and keep day-to-day operations
running smoothly. Executors’ strengths lie in attention to detail, discipline, and follow-through. As Linkner put it, they are “the private equity investors of a project
… [they] take the undesirable and detail-laden work seriously.”
Startups often fail because of a lack of discipline—a strength of operators. If a company is full of vision but lacks
precision, it will eventually fail. Especially in the early stages of your business, having an operator on your team ensures someone follows through on the tedious
but essential tasks that can accelerate your business’s growth.
Before TOMS became a multimillion-dollar company, its founder and CEO, Blake Mycoskie, was on the front lines, handling everything
شيء بدءًا من الطلبات والإيفاء إلى مهام Marketing والتوظيف. وعلى الرغم من أنه صاحب رؤى كبير، إلا أن ميكوسكي لعب دور المنفذ بشكل جيد
especially in those early days.

For processors, leadership is the practice of efficiency. A processor is the next level of leader—a person your company should consider hiring when it’s
ready to move to the next level or take on larger, new markets. With this growth-oriented, scalable mindset,
this leader’s strengths go beyond what a visionary and an executor can accomplish on their own. They process information precisely and apply it in a way that enables everyone to
إنجاز الأمور.
Harvard Business Review describes processors as people who “like organizations to run smoothly, with the machinery well-oiled and always ready.
They are highly effective at establishing the structures and systems needed to support an organization’s goals.” For us, this person is our CEO. She excels at creating
Processes that embody our company’s vision and put it into practice on a much broader scale for a wider audience.
Sheryl Sandberg—Facebook’s vice president of global partnerships and business development—is another shining example of the operator role. As the former COO
of Instagram, Sandberg established processes that helped grow the social platform from 300 million users to more than a billion, while expanding the team
from 100 to more than 1,000. Sandberg drew on the skills she learned at Instagram to strengthen Facebook’s continued success.

Defining your leadership style is an exercise in self-reflection. Start by listing your strengths and weaknesses, both inside and outside the workplace—and be completely honest.
This process will help you develop a clearer sense of self, helping you understand where you need support in managing. There are also a number of
Low-cost online aptitude and leadership assessments, such as StrongsFinder and DiSC, are available to help you discover your leadership style.
It’s impossible to be great at everything, which is why you should take the time to reflect radically and honestly to identify your strengths.
Once you understand them, start thinking about how to use them to fill the gaps. This may take some time, especially if you’re in the early stages of building your
company and can’t hire full-time employees. If so, assess the partners, contractors, mentors, and business coaches you work with.
Could they fill any of these roles in the meantime?
Keep in mind that most of us are naturally wired to hire people like ourselves, but growth requires a diverse range of skills and perspectives.
In fact, I’ve made a concerted effort to surround myself with people who are different from me, and that has helped us build a culture of creativity and innovation. Having each
Having each of these perspectives represented on every team ensures that we don’t just think big and dream big—we also bring those ideas to life as effectively as possible.
