We all feel underappreciated when we achieve things at work and no one notices. At the same time,
we don’t want to draw attention to ourselves directly. Instead, we look for a way to let others see our achievements without coming across as boastful. No one likes the idea of showing off their accomplishments out of vanity,
ولكن في الوقت نفسه يحب أن يستشعر الآخرون حجم تلك الإنجازات، So how can we do that?
Here are seven ways to talk about our achievements in a way others appreciate:
.
1. Share the great things happening in your life:
Think about what makes you stand out at work. Do you have hobbies your colleagues don’t know about, or have you overcome a major challenge to reach your position? Discover the aspects
of your life that could make a great story, and share them in conversations at work.
.
2. Make others eager to hear what you have to say.
Prepare an engaging way to introduce yourself to new people. Describe yourself in a sentence or two that leaves others eager to hear more about what you do,
so when they’re curious to learn more about you, no one will think you’re bragging. Don’t be shy about opening up when they ask you to tell them more about yourself.
.
3. Share your latest achievements:
When people ask what you do at work, it’s the perfect opportunity to talk about yourself. Be mentally prepared for that moment by thinking of your latest achievements, as well as
your current projects. Talking about your work—rather than your strengths—can help you relax and speak at length about your accomplishments.
.
4. Talk about your team:
If you’re a manager, talk in detail about your team’s achievements and how effectively you lead them. Being proud of your team is a strength for any leader. When you talk about your team, people won’t feel
that you’re talking about yourself, even though you’re actually highlighting your leadership skills.
.
5. Highlight your achievements to leaders:
When you share your success with your manager or other leaders, no one will think you’re bragging—they’ll want to know about your achievements. In fact, it’s unprofessional not to
tell them. Stop by your manager’s office, email senior leaders, or call them if your achievement is significant enough to share.
.
6. Believe in the importance of your role:
Believing in your positive impact shows confidence and strength of character. Your enthusiasm will naturally draw people to you, and as a result, you’ll receive endless invitations
to talk about the way you work.
If you’ve taken on another role related to your current job, rekindle your enthusiasm by reminding yourself what you love about your work and making small changes to break up the routine.

7. Ask your supporters to speak up for you:
When others recognize your skills and achievements, it’s natural for them to talk about you too—and your visibility at work will grow. It’s important to ask for support from people you trust
because building relationships with people who support you within the organization will boost your credibility and help leaders take notice of you. Keep your supporters informed about your achievements, and if
you want to promote your achievements, tell them about them. People usually feel proud when they help others succeed.
