Some of the skills we possess can open up golden opportunities that may shape our lives. One such skill is the ability to speak fluently.
The answer lies in 12 tips that explain what distinguishes these two kinds of people and how different impressions are formed by their conversations

1. Speak with the intention of changing your listeners’ attitudes and inspiring action:
As a speaker, you should be clear about what actions you want your audience to take after listening to your talk. But if no meaningful change occurs in
your listeners after you finish speaking. If that happens, you’ll know your words had no impact at all—or were worth nothing.
.
2. Start strong and draw your audience in from the very first words:
Begin with a personal story that really happened to you, a quote from an expert, a striking statistic, or something similar.
This can capture and hold the audience’s attention, while also broadening their perspective and making them more eager
to open their minds to the information you share. As a speaker, you should give your audience the chance to notice your personal skills in how you
communicate and connect with the subject at hand.
.
3. Structure the material for your talk into three sections:
The first section is the introduction, which should include engaging elements that capture the audience’s attention. The second is the main body, where you
explore the topic in greater detail. Finally, the conclusion should summarize what you’ve covered throughout your
talk. Make sure you understand the material you’ve chosen to discuss, and enjoy talking about the topic you’re presenting. Be sure to include
stories in your talk, as they can help break up a long, uninterrupted speech.
.
4. Practice, then practice some more:
Practice consistently and out loud, using all the tools you plan to use at the actual event. Work hard on yourself so you can control and manage
what you say, which may include filler words or unwanted details. Keep practicing by stopping mid-speech and then starting again,
and remember to use a clock to check how long you take to speak. Also allow extra time for things that might happen, even if they’re unexpected,
during the presentation.
.
5. Know your audience before you address them:
You can do this by talking to one or two members of the audience who have arrived at the venue. They’re likely to become your allies in the crowd, which
makes it easier to speak as if you were talking to friends rather than strangers.
.
6. Familiarize yourself with all the equipment you’ll use on stage:
Arrive early enough to inspect the speaking area where you’ll address the audience, and check
the microphone’s sound and make sure it works, along with any visual equipment that will help you deliver your message.
.
7. Stay calm and composed before taking the stage:
Start with a compelling opening and connect it to a personal story you’ve experienced. This can help you make a great start to your talk,
while also building credibility with your audience, strengthening your connection with them, and creating the right atmosphere in the room—one that
suits the subject you’re presenting. Don’t let signs of nervousness take over, and stay calm.
.
8. Picture your success:
End your speech by imagining yourself surrounded by audience members eager to ask questions, with their applause ringing through the room.
.
9. Make good use of pauses:
These pauses should last between 3 and 8 seconds and be placed at key moments—for example, after finishing a story or just before making a statement or sharing something you want to say.
They help keep the audience engaged and eager to hear what you’ll say next.
.
10. لا تعتذر:
The audience may not recognize your apology or fully understand its context.
.
11. ابتســم:
Stay closely connected to the content you’re discussing by smiling. This has a positive effect on you as the speaker and on your listeners.
So if the audience doesn’t see how much the topics you cover matter to you—through your genuine interest and small gestures like a smile—it will be
truly difficult for them to understand how important what you’re discussing with them is.
.
12. Draw on experience—and make sure you gain it:
Look for every opportunity to speak with confidence and fluency, and don’t overlook the value of listening to other speakers like you. Remember that it’s essential
to prepare thoroughly and well in advance.
.
This shows that experience builds self-confidence, a key to delivering an effective speech and making the impact you want on your audience.
In short, we should all recognize that our surroundings are full of resources that can motivate us to make decisions that help us
become more professional and more confident in what we do, both professionally and personally. But also keep in mind that nothing and no tool has the power
It helps people grow and make progress in all areas of life—with one exception: consistently putting their skills into practice.
