Regret often goes beyond feelings of despair and disappointment. It can be a trap that puts your future dreams—and your present reality—at risk.
Regret is tied to feeling that you have let yourself or others down. At some point in your life, you’ll realize that the worst feelings come from not making the decision to
do something, and are worse than regretting a decision you did make.
The question remains: What is regret? It’s the feeling that comes over you when you believe things could be better than they are because of the possibility of
having acted a certain way in the past, or having made a pivotal decision that could have affected your future.
Regret is a completely natural feeling that comes with the development of a person’s character and mental and emotional growth. For example, you may listen to your mature mind now
telling you that you could have acted differently in the past. But in reality, you couldn’t—you didn’t yet have your current level of development or maturity.
Our relationship with the past ends with intense regret, bearing in mind that we cannot turn back time and change how things were. Our control over
time is limited to the moment we are breathing in now.
Some regret leads us to correct our mistakes and even points the way back to what is right. In this case, it can be a positive first step toward putting things right and setting them on

How to Deal with Feelings of Regret
But some situations leave no room for regret. Memories can become a terrifying nightmare that haunts you constantly, potentially going so far as to destroy your present life,
and your chance of having a bright future. That completely natural human feeling can become the start of a journey filled with terrible emotional suffering and pain.
The saying “There’s no use crying over spilled milk” is often repeated in an effort to get back on track and overcome the feeling of regret that
A desire for real change can affect anyone.
Although there are different ways to avoid feeling this way in the future, the practical remedy for regret is to give every opportunity its full chance to the end and avoid making practical decisions
based on emotion, while also avoiding laziness and continuing to move forward.

• Human nature
كل إنسان يُخطئ، علمًا بأن دوامة الضعف استطاعت أن تنال من كل فرد في الحياة؛ فلا يجب أن تُحمّل نفسك فوق طاقتها، ولا تحاول أن تتذكر ما
has passed. Human nature calls for us to fight failure and repeated setbacks. Everyone has been in situations where they behaved poorly and had to
deal with the consequences later.
And don’t forget that fear of death can kill life, as the late Egyptian writer Naguib Mahfouz once said. There’s no need to keep thinking about or imagining the details of things that were meant
to be forgotten. Try to make the most of the moments you have in life by letting go of anger and easing your worries.
.
• The pursuit of happiness
What you should seriously be seeking is happiness in life and a sense of contentment in your heart. You may forget the past, but remember the lesson well:
experience grows out of situations in which you made mistakes, whether toward yourself or others.
Making a mistake that hurts others is no less serious than making one that hurts yourself. Don’t make things worse by digging through painful memories and being hard on yourself;
instead, try to set your feelings aside, take life seriously, and don’t hesitate to pursue happiness and achieve new goals.
.
• Don’t worry about what others think
Never belittle others in any way. Changing circumstances reveal people’s true character, so don’t assume you’re being targeted by their harsh judgments, or
that you have to accept their opinions about your mistakes.
