Who among us hasn’t felt extremely bored during Meetings, and tried to do anything to pass the time—like playing on their phone or staring at a spot on
the wall, or chatting with a colleague without the meeting leader noticing? Many of us believe that meetings at work are nothing but
a waste of time and effort.
Research on this topic has found that meetings lasting just 10 minutes can help maintain Employee productivity, while also preventing
any kind of miscommunication and giving employees the chance to share good ideas and find solutions.
To combat these negative perceptions of meetings, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella adopted a different approach to maintaining the
productivity of the employees he works with, as well as their ability to stay focused.

تحويل مُذهل
When Nadella became Microsoft’s CEO, the company was going through a major identity crisis, and the software giant was facing numerous problems.
Internally, however, Nadella managed to bring about a remarkable change.
Nadella, the first person of Indian origin to become Microsoft’s CEO, is credited with getting the company back on track,
and helping it overcome its identity crisis.
Nadella officially joined Microsoft in 1992 and rose through the ranks, serving as vice president of research and development for the Services division,
then as corporate vice president of the company’s Business Division. He played a prominent role in developing Microsoft’s cloud services infrastructure and also took on
many key responsibilities.
And in 2014, following the announcement بيل جيتسthat American billionaire and Microsoft co-founder was stepping down as chairman in favor of John Thompson,
Satya Nadella was announced as the new CEO.
.
القواعد الثلاث
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal several years ago, Nadella said he follows three rules when holding Meetingsmeetings, which have helped make
meetings much better: listen more, talk less, and be decisive when it comes to time andMaking decisions.
.
استمع أكثر
When you listen, you learn. Listening skills are invaluable for people who lead meetings, as they help them draw on different perspectives
and bring people closer together. In addition, listening to your team helps create a safe environment and gives employees a sense of ease and reassurance
because it allows them to express their opinions and ideas freely.
What’s more, listening to employees makes them feel more engaged. They stop thinking they’re attending a meeting that’s all about you, and it turns you
into an active team player rather than the person in charge.
.
تكلم أقل
Speaking less doesn’t mean staying silent altogether; it means talking less. You can do this by asking more questions and making clear statements.
And get straight to the point instead of talking incessantly. This way, you’ll give everyone a chance to participate and leave room for the other team members in the meeting to share
their opinions and explain their perspectives.
Of course, there will be times when you need to answer questions and speak at length. But you should do so clearly and concisely to
keep everyone’s attention.
.
كُن حاسماً
Now that you’ve shared your ideas and suggestions and listened to your employees’ opinions and ideas, it’s time to be decisive and make the best decision
for everyone. According to Nadella, that’s your primary job.
The decision certainly won’t satisfy everyone, because we don’t live in a utopia where we can make decisions that are comfortable and pleasing to all. But remember, making decisions is part of your job.
You need to make difficult decisions and know how to handle the reactions that follow.
So, the next time you hold a meeting and want to get as much value from it as possible, remind yourself
to listen more, speak less, and be decisive when it’s time to make a decision.
Keep Nadella’s principles in mind. They can help create balance, boost productivity, and help you make the most of the emotions
associated with work.
