تُعد صناديق الاستثمار من أهم المميزات التي ظهرت في الأسواق العالمية، خلال القرن الأخير.
Investment companies appeared in the late 20th century, as fund accounting took on a new dimension, shaped by different characteristics
and forms. This paved the way for the many types of investment funds, which we explore in the following article.
These funds include several different types, including closed-end funds. These are investment companies that issue a fixed number of shares in what is known as an “initial public offering
(IPO),” after which the shares are not continuously offered for sale.
Shares are bought and sold only on an official exchange, while closed-end funds are classified into several categories, and investment outlets are managed by
specialized advisors.
An open-end fund, also known as a “mutual fund,” allows investors to buy shares directly from the fund at a price determined by
the fund’s net asset value, plus any fees charged by the fund at the time of purchase.
The fund pools money from many investors and invests it in stocks, bonds, short-term money market instruments, or other securities.
Mutual fund shares are redeemable: a mutual fund shareholder can sell those shares back to the fund, and they cannot be purchased
Fund shares, or sell them on secondary markets.
This type of fund has several categories, including:
.
1. Money market funds
Money market funds invest in short-term, fixed-income securities, such as government bonds, certificates of deposit, and Treasury bills.
What makes it a successful investment.
2. Fixed-Income Funds
Fixed-income funds invest in assets with a clearly defined rate of return, such as investment-grade bonds, government bonds, and high-yield corporate bonds.
High yield.
Fixed-income funds aim to generate regular income for the fund, mostly through the interest it earns.
.
3. Balanced Funds
Balanced funds invest in a mix of stocks and fixed-income securities, aiming to strike a balance while pursuing higher returns.

These funds tend to carry more risk than fixed-income funds, but are less risky than conventional stock funds, as they hold more stocks
and fewer bonds.
.
4. Hedge Funds
These funds operate as privately owned companies that pool investors’ money and reinvest it in complex financial instruments. The first
“hedge fund” was established in the 1940s.
Hedge funds operate as limited liability companies to protect the manager and investors from creditors if the fund goes bankrupt. They specialize in
using sophisticated derivatives, such as futures contracts.
