The two Filipino civil engineers defied a brutal economic period, took a risk to pursue their dreams, and founded a company that reflected their vision for transforming the construction trade in <\/span><\/p>\n

the country. After nearly twenty years, engineers Michael and Edgar became some of the Philippines\u2019 youngest millionaires, thanks to their leadership of one of the country\u2019s leading construction companies. <\/span><\/p>\n

In 2016, 43-year-old Cosiquien ranked 35th on the list of the Philippines\u2019 wealthiest businessmen, with an estimated net worth <\/span><\/p>\n

of $265 million. His 41-year-old partner, Sav edra, ranked 37th, with a net worth of $255 million. They were among the youngest<\/span><\/p>\n

Businessmen and close associates of Edgar Sia, the Philippines\u2019 youngest billionaire, a business magnate whose wealth is estimated at $1.2 billion and who is just 39 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

They came from established business families. They could have worked in the Saavedra family\u2019s shipping business or Cosiquien\u2019s real estate business, but they wanted to build structures, <\/span><\/p>\n

and make their mark with a vision of their own.<\/span><\/p>\n

The engineers founded the company in 1997\u2014a disastrous year to start a business\u2014as the cost of importing cement and steel rose amid the <\/span><\/p>\n

Asian financial crisis, and the company lost all the profits it had made as the Philippine peso fell.<\/span><\/p>\n

The results were more than successful: not only were costs lower, but construction was much faster. Before long, clients were flocking to the company, <\/span><\/p>\n

and by 2008 its annual revenue had exceeded one billion pesos. It was listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange in 2011. Among its most important clients were leading property developers, <\/span><\/p>\n
