Ananda was born in 1938 in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur. He attended Vivekananda School in Brickfields and completed his schooling at Victoria Institution in Kuala Lumpur. After that, <\/span><\/p>\n

he attended the University of Melbourne in Australia, where he earned a bachelor\u2019s degree with honors in political science. He then earned a master\u2019s degree in<\/span><\/p>\n

business administration from Harvard Business School, graduating in 1964.<\/span><\/p>\n

He began his career in the oil industry and was the first oil trader to launch Exoil Trading, a company that dealt in oil-trading concessions in<\/span><\/p>\n

in various countries around the world. He then established the Malaysian consulting firm, Usaha Tegas. In the early 1990s, he began expanding his business activities to include media <\/span><\/p>\n

and advertising, agriculture, and telecommunications.<\/span><\/p>\n

Malaysia. It has more than 11 million subscribers and revenues of $8.9 billion, making it the country\u2019s most successful company. He also owns stakes in Aircel <\/span><\/p>\n
