As someone involved in the entrepreneurship community and in frequent contact with attendees at its conferences and meetups, I find that this question comes up a lot. In that community, you\u2019ll find entrepreneurs... <\/span><\/p>\n

...who are just starting out, or people considering entering the field, influenced by those who have led their companies to success or who inspire them with their words at conferences and meetups. As a result, <\/span><\/p>\n

they may be driven\u2014often without realizing it\u2014to jump off the career ladder and start their own companies. This is not inherently a bad thing, but the way it is done may not be ideal, because leaving a job to work for yourself requires major changes in personal behavior, mindset, and experience. I\u2019ll try here to discuss <\/span><\/p>\n

some important aspects of starting a company, and share practical ideas and steps to help avoid future problems. <\/span><\/p>\n

The reason for starting a company<\/span><\/p>\n

Before you start, ask yourself why you want to leave your job and start a company. Is it because you were inspired after seeing someone else\u2019s success story and want to repeat it? Are you looking for<\/span><\/p>\n

more money, profits, and a better income than you have now? Is it because you hate your current job or your manager? Are you passionate about a problem in the market that you want to solve by starting a company<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0645\u0646 \u062e\u0644\u0627\u0644\u0647\u0627<\/span><\/p>\n

There may certainly be many reasons behind taking this step\u2014and believe me, many of them don\u2019t make sense. What matters is you: you need to know the reason<\/span><\/p>\n

you\u2019re really driven to take this step. You\u2019re the only one who can determine whether that reason is genuine and sensible, and whether it makes this step worthwhile.<\/span><\/p>\n

Company Management<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Before, during, or after starting your startup, it\u2019s very important to have realistic expectations about the company, its needs, and its administrative and operational details, so you don\u2019t <\/span><\/p>\n

get a shock. First, you should know that startups generally carry a high\u2014and very high\u2014level of risk. That\u2019s why most Startups<\/a> \u062a\u0641\u0634\u0644 \u0643\u0645\u0627 <\/span><\/p>\n

statistics say so. Second, a company needs capital, and a large part of that capital may come from you. In other words, if you work on it full-time, you can save the company a lot in costs, <\/span><\/p>\n

which is very important in the early stages. Third, a startup can\u2019t get by on just 8 hours of work\u2014not even 24 hours. So compare this reality with the fact that you\u2019re working on it as <\/span><\/p>\n

Part-time, so you can see what the company might look like and how well it can keep up with the competition. Fourth, if you work at the company part-time, how will <\/span><\/p>\n

you convince your employees to work full-time? And beyond that, how will you inspire them to work hard and give their best? Inspiration comes from believing in an idea\u2014and you weren\u2019t convinced enough to leave your job for it. <\/span><\/p>\n

Fifth, if you need investors\u2019 money, they won\u2019t risk investing in your company unless you\u2019re willing to risk leaving your job.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personal Income Management<\/span><\/h2>\n

In a job, you know exactly that you\u2019ll receive a steady income at the end of each month, which helps you manage your personal finances and plan for everything in your life and your family\u2019s life. <\/span><\/p>\n

But when you start a startup, the equation is completely different: you won\u2019t have the financial comfort that established, large companies enjoy. So there <\/span><\/p>\n

won\u2019t be a monthly income; instead, you\u2019ll have monthly expenses for the company and its operating costs. What\u2019s more, even in the best-case scenario, it will take you <\/span><\/p>\n

It may take many months\u2014or even a year or more\u2014before things start to improve through sales or \u062c\u0630\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0633\u062a\u062b\u0645\u0631\u064a\u0646<\/a>. The worst-case scenario is failure, since <\/span><\/p>\n

most startups fail, so you should have a backup plan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Should I quit my job?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now, before you leave your job, you can make the right decision. Many new entrepreneurs are unaware of what we\u2019ve discussed so far and only learn these lessons after they <\/span><\/p>\n

throw themselves into the deep end, and few make it out. The decision to leave a job varies from person to person depending on their situation, abilities, resources, and experience. But <\/span><\/p>\n

Now that you have a clearer picture of what to expect, here are some very brief steps to take before leaving your job:<\/span><\/p>\n

Initial Idea Validation<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Since the idea is at the heart of the company\u2019s work, you should first validate it and the way it solves the problem before building your expansion plans around it. There are many ways <\/span><\/p>\n

to validate an idea and assess market demand. The right approach varies from one company and industry to another. One of the most important methods is to target people who have <\/span><\/p>\n

the problem and present your solution to them verbally, in a presentation, or through questions, so you can gather their opinions and ideas\u2014which often come from different angles <\/span><\/p>\n

and inexpensively as possible to validate the assumptions you made about solving the problem\u2014not to launch the best product. After that, you\u2019ll get feedback and suggestions from users that <\/span><\/p>\n

will help you improve your product. This cycle will continue indefinitely.<\/span><\/p>\n

After all this, if you still can\u2019t attract your first users and customers, that\u2019s a very strong indication that there\u2019s a serious problem with your product, your service, or your <\/span><\/p>\n

approach to solving the problem. Worse still, you may be trying to solve a problem that doesn\u2019t exist, which is why you have no users or customers. But if your user and customer numbers<\/span><\/p>\n

and sales are growing, that\u2019s a positive sign. The question remains: when should you leave your job? You should decide in advance what number you\u2019ll consider an initial indicator of success, and at that point <\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, I want to point out that entrepreneurship is an extremely difficult path, full of thorns, not roses as some people make it seem. It requires a great deal of effort and hard work, as well as <\/span><\/p>\n

experience, to succeed. I\u2019m not trying to discourage you, but to present the truth as it is, so you\u2019ll be fully prepared if you fail. Therefore, you should plan <\/span><\/p>\n
