Entrepreneur website published an important article explaining the importance of returning to Pioneer historical leaders To benefit

From their experiences, the article points out that Leadership is not only in the business sector Rather, it is in the talent of leading communities and directing history to, perhaps

Nelson Mandela was one of the most important great figures of history whom we lived alongside and who were a source of inspiration for the new leaders leading distinguished companies in

Today's world. Nelson Mandela transformed from a rebel who started his life in the era of slavery to a hero who led South Africa to get rid of the apartheid

System, this is a great lesson from the past.

Benjamin Franklin, one of the prominent early thought leaders in America, found a unique solution; he used to collect articles by thinkers he respected, examine them closely

And take detailed notes on them, then rewrite their theories in his own style and compare them, then revise his writings to be at the level of

The works of those great writers. By studying those who came before him, Franklin became the respected, educated man we know

Today. Similarly, leaders today can study successful men and women throughout history to take guidance from them.

Some of those who influenced and inspired me:

.

Toussaint Louverture: Do not deviate from your goal

Toussaint Louverture: A former slave who was inspired by the principles of the French Revolution and defeated European empires in Saint-Domingue (now Haiti)

And abolished slavery in that colony. From the beginning of his revolution, Louverture decided that he would not compromise on his central goal, which was the complete abolition of slavery in

The colony. This principle governed his actions during the revolution and drove him to fight alongside both the French and Spanish armies. Louverture was not a person

Who compromised on principles, and instead of allying with the party that shared his culture, blood, and traditions, he fought with the army that shared his principles.

Louverture succeeded in eradicating slavery by focusing on the goal and doing whatever it took to serve that goal.

Sun Tzu: Study the battlefield

Just as water carves its channel into the earth over which it flows, a leader needs to adapt to the circumstances surrounding them. “Sun Tzu,” the philosopher

And legendary military leader of the Zhao dynasty, advises military leaders to study the battlefield to take advantage of its nature and remain on

High alert. For example: “Startled birds and animals may indicate a sudden attack.” He also advises the military leader to monitor the enemy

And pay attention to any sign indicating exhaustion or frustration.

In his book The Art of War, he said: “When the enemy's soldiers begin to eat their livestock and behave as if they will not return to their tents, you must know that they"

”Ready to fight to the death.".

“Circumstances today may differ from those in China in 500 BC, but the essence of Sun Tzu's words remains true.”.

“Study the business environment and competitors to achieve the best possible results.”.

.

Niccolò Machiavelli: Hire exceptional consultants

“To understand the new environment in which you operate, rely on a small number of advisors you trust.”.

Prince Niccolò Machiavelli, a politician and author during the European Renaissance, explained in his 16th-century research

that making good use of consultants begins with knowing your weaknesses, then choosing suitable advisors to overcome these points. It doesn't end

here; rather, you must learn how to obtain good advice. For Machiavelli, this meant showing your appreciation for honest advice,

and that you will not punish advisors for their honesty with you. In the end, Machiavelli was the decision-maker. Machiavelli wrote: ”The first thing you do to evaluate

a leader's mind is to look at the people around him.”.

Choose your advisors well, and you will be the envy of all leaders.

.

Nelson Mandela: Be the beacon your people need

Sometimes it takes courage to pretend you are brave. Nelson Mandela, the social activist, was a brave leader even at times when

he felt afraid. Mandela's ability to control fear can be illustrated by a story few know: during a small plane trip

across South Africa, the plane's engine failed and it made an emergency landing. The bodyguard who accompanied Mandela

during the trip said that Mandela was calmly reading the newspaper the entire time while his life was in danger.

Mandela later admitted that he was truly scared, but refused to show it. Mandela knew that courage is a choice and everyone can be

brave. This does not mean risking your life, but rather adapting to daily anxiety and fears.

.

Abraham Lincoln: A kind word turns enemies into friends

Pointing out others' mistakes does not drive them to change their behavior, nor does it help them learn anything. Humans are driven by emotions, not logic.

Public criticism will most likely not drive people to change their habits; rather, it will reflect negatively on you.

Abraham Lincoln was famous for publicly criticizing opponents. He learned this lesson the hard way, as his public criticism of an opponent almost ended

in a sword duel had a wise friend not intervened. Lincoln realized that his aggressive behavior was not in his favor. His new policy

relied on understanding his opponents' motives, accepting their flaws, and easing public criticism. Thus, Lincoln gained a reputation as a soft-spoken

and lenient person with opponents. This behavior even turned some members of the opposing army into friends. During the Civil War, Lincoln said

his famous quote to those who harshly criticized Southerners: “Do not criticize them; we would be just like them if we lived under the same circumstances.”.

Leadership is hard work; otherwise, why did writer and investor Ben Horowitz name his blog “The Struggle”?

Hoping that the stories of these historical leaders will make your time as a leader more inspiring and less isolated.
